Security Council Holds Briefing on Situation in South Sudan

The Council holds its monthly briefing this morning on the situation in South Sudan, taking up the report of the Secretary-General on the matter (document S/2025/504).

Martha Ama Akyaa Pobee, Assistant Secretary-General for Africa in the Departments of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs and Peace Operations, George Aggrey Owinow, Interim Chairperson of the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission, and Murithi Mutiga, Programme Director for Africa, International Crisis Group will brief on on the political, security, and humanitarian developments in the country.

The delegation of South Sudan will participate in the meeting under Rule 37 of the Council’s provisional rules of procedure.
