Cape Town - Stuart Baxter admitted his side lacked an attacking threat as a toothless Bafana Bafana registered just TWO shots on target in their 1-0 defeat to Ivory Coast at the Al-Salam Stadium on Monday.

A Jonathan Kodija strike in the 64th minute handed Bafana a narrow defeat in their opening Group D fixture of AFCON 2019.

"If you don't create enough of an attacking threat against a good side like Ivory Coast, you're going to have problems," Baxter admitted in a post-match interview.

A surprising statistic from a tense encounter was that despite Bafana Bafana enjoying 52% of possession in the first half they failed to register a single shot on target.
